## ~Rapid Development and Delivery for Yasa Motors’ High-Performance Needs~
#### Customer Challenge
Award-winning manufacturer Yasa Motors, known for their high power and torque density axial flux motors, faced a challenge when one of their leading Formula One customers needed a specific spring solution for a bearing pre-load problem. With a maximum deadline of two weeks from concept to final product, Yasa Motors required a solution that met their stringent time constraints and technical specifications.
#### AFC Solution
AFC was called upon to assist Yasa Motors with their challenge. Upon determining that a standard product was not suitable for the specific bearing pre-load issue, AFC’s team designed a custom solution. Working closely with Yasa Motors’ Technical Product Manager, Herminder Mathary, and AFC’s Product Manager, Simon Ward, an 80mm stainless steel, nested Smalley Wave Spring was developed. AFC managed to design, submit specifications, and provide final approval drawings, all within the tight deadline, delivering the finished product on time.
#### Customer Outcome
Yasa Motors was particularly impressed with AFC’s ability to meet the strict time constraints and deliver a solution that fully satisfied their customer’s demands. Herminder Mathary expressed confidence in AFC, highlighting their successful collaboration: “Having dealt with AFC on previous occasions, we were confident a solution could be achieved, but we were particularly delighted that the time restraints set for us were achievable and our customer’s demands were fully satisfied.”
