Eine der weltweit gebräuchlichsten Wellenfederanwendungen ist eine Lagervorspannungsanordnung wie abgebildet. Die richtige Belastung verlängert oft die Lebensdauer der Lager, indem sie die Betriebstemperaturen senkt, Vibrationen reduziert, den Verschleiß minimiert und für eine ruhigere, gleichmäßigere Leistung sorgt.

Unser Smalley-Produkt wird im Gegensatz zu einem gestanzten Äquivalent durch Kantenwicklung aus einer kontinuierlichen Spule aus vorgetempertem Flachdraht mit abgerundeten Kanten aus einem einzelnen Filament hergestellt und erfordert keine Wärmebehandlung nach dem Formen. Infolgedessen ist die Federrate durchweg genauer und die auf der Arbeitshöhe der Federn bereitgestellte Last ist über alle hergestellten Chargen hinweg wiederholbar.

Unsere SSB-Serien von 16 mm bis 580 mm sind für viele Standardlagergrößen ausgelegt, während die Möglichkeit, nicht standardmäßige Größen ohne Werkzeugkosten oder Lieferauswirkungen zu wickeln, dem Kunden vollständige Designflexibilität und einen Größenbereich von 6 mm bis über 2000 mm bietet.

Zu den Standardmaterialien gehören Kohlenstofffederstahl, Edelstahl 17-7, Edelstahl 302 oder 316, aber wenn die Anwendungen dies erfordern, können Federn aus exotischen Legierungen wie Inconel X750 und Elgiloy hergestellt werden.`
