Für die Prototypenserie wurde im Ventilkörper ein konventioneller Runddrahtsprengring DIN 7993 eingesetzt. Bei den ersten Testphasen stellte sich heraus, dass der Runddrahtsprengring durch seinen Restgrat Gummierungen im Ventil beschädigte. Auch der Toleranzbereich bei der Parallelität des Ringes war im Verhältnis zu dem vorhandenen axialen und radialen Raum und den dadurch resultierenden Nutgeometrien nicht optimal, sodass es vorkam, dass der Ring sich im Arbeitszustand aus der Nut löste. So kam eine Standardlösung für diese Anwendung nicht in Frage. ### AFC Lösung Zur Lösung des Problems schlug AFC einen zweilagigen Smalley Sicherungsring vor. Der Sicherungsring wurde dabei exakt nach den gewünschten Abmessungen, Nutgeometrien und Toleranzen ausgelegt. Durch das sogenannte “Circular Grain” Verfahren wird der Ring in einem Walz-Wickelprozess gratfrei gefertigt. Da der Ring in einem medizinischen Gerät zum Einsatz kommt, ist die Wahl des Werkstoffes auf AISI 316 gefallen. Im Bezug auf die physikalischen Eigenschaften und den hohen Legierungsbestandteil Molybdän weist der Werkstoff eine sehr hohe Temperatur- und Korrosionsbeständigkeit aus. Des Weiteren wird die Oberfläche dampfentfettet und ultraschallgereinigt. Somit passt der Werkstoff und die Oberflächenbehandlung exakt in die Kundenanforderung und unterscheidet sich wesentlich von Standardlegierungen konventioneller gestanzter Sicherungsringe. ### Resultat Dank der einzigartigen Eigenschaften des Smalley Sicherungsringes konnte der Kunde die Prozesssicherheit des Ventiles gewährleisten und das Produkt erfolgreich in dem Markt einführen.
